An official ceremony marking the completion of a two-month international internship by Ms. Togzhan Assylbekova, a representative of a partner university from Astana – the Kazakh National University of Sport – was held at WSG University. The internship was carried out in the fields of International Business and European Law and constituted another element of the long-standing cooperation between WSG University and its academic partners in Kazakhstan. The Kazakh National University of Sport, previously operating as APEMS, is among WSG’s key and trusted partners in Kazakhstan. The cooperation between the institutions includes numerous international projects, conferences, congresses, exchange of experience, and joint educational initiatives.
During her internship, Ms. Togzhan Assylbekova participated in numerous organizational, academic, and working meetings, including a meeting with the Chancellor of WSG, Associate Professor Filip Sikora. This provided an opportunity to discuss the functioning of the university, directions of internationalization, practical models of cooperation with foreign partners, and the further development of Polish-Kazakh relations.
The internship program also included classes and activities implemented using the experience of WSG’s international partners, not only in Poland but also in other European Union countries. One of the important components of the program was a study visit to Sweden and introductory sessions conducted within the environment of partner company Stena Line. This enabled the intern to gain insight into the practical aspects of international business operations, the organization of cross-border cooperation, and European management standards.
A special place in the relationship between WSG University and the Kazakh National University of Sport is held by the EMBA Sport Manager program, jointly implemented by WSG Bydgoszcz University and partners from Kazakhstan. The program enjoys significant interest from the sports and managerial community, and its next edition is planned for July 2026.
During the official meeting, Ms. Togzhan Assylbekova received a certificate confirming the completion of her internship, as well as special gifts prepared by the University. The certificate was presented by Professor Marzena Sobczak-Michałowska, Plenipotentiary of the Senate for Internationalization, and Associate Professor Tatiana Skaliy, Dean for Cooperation with Universities from the East. The completion of the internship provided an opportunity to summarize Ms. Assylbekova’s stay in Bydgoszcz, express gratitude for her commitment, and emphasize the importance of academic cooperation between Poland and Kazakhstan. For many years, WSG Bydgoszcz University has been actively developing relations with universities, institutions, and the sports community in Kazakhstan, building a lasting platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices.
