
On Monday, May 12th 2025, the opening lecture of this year’s International Week took place in Aula Maior (Building K). The event brought together participants and partners from various countries, including Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Rwanda, and Zambia, highlighting its truly international character.
The special guest was Prof. Włodzisław Duch from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń – a well-known researcher specializing in artificial intelligence. His lecture, titled “AI for Science,” introduced groundbreaking ideas and applications of AI in modern scientific research.
During his presentation, Prof. Duch not only showcased practical examples of computational intelligence in various fields of science, but also encouraged reflection on the future of AI and its relationship to human biological intelligence. Will artificial intelligence soon surpass our own? The question sparked an inspiring discussion.
The lecture, held in English, attracted great interest from both students and academic staff, serving as an excellent start to this year’s International Week.
