On December 18, 2025, in the Aula Maior of the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, a ceremony was held to celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event had a special character, emphasizing the importance of Polish-Kazakh international cooperation and the role of our University in developing academic and cultural relations. Currently, more than 50 students from Kazakhstan are studying at WSG, which demonstrates the durability and dynamism of these ties.
The ceremony was attended by, among others, Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Merey Alyev, President of WSG – Prof. Hon. Krzysztof Sikora, Rector of WSG – Prof. Marek Chamot, as well as representatives of the city authorities of Bydgoszcz, and members of the University’s Council and Senate. The meeting was conducted in Polish and English. Students presented the history of Kazakhstan regaining independence in 1991, its traditions, and modernity. They showcased Kazakh culture, including playing the traditional instrument – the dombra, the custom of “Shashu,” as well as folk and contemporary dances.
After the official part, a reception was held, also prepared by the students, which encouraged conversations and integration among participants. The ceremony was an excellent opportunity to learn about the history of Kazakhstan’s independence and the richness of its culture, as well as to strengthen our relations.
