The final stage of the 7th Provincial Knowledge Contest on the United States of America - an event that not only promotes US culture and history, but also supports the development of linguistic competence among young people - was held within the walls of the Higher School of Economy. The competition was organized jointly with Tadeusz Nowakowski 9th High School with Bilingual Branches in Bydgoszcz.
This year's edition was held under the theme “Culture of the 21st Century and the National Parks of the USA”, and all stages of the competition were conducted exclusively in English. The competition consisted of three stages - school, regional and final, the latter of which was carried out at our university. The best high school students from all over the province qualified for the finals.
The finalists prepared 5-6 minute multimedia presentations, after which they answered questions from the jury relating to the presented content. The content and language level of the presentations was extremely high, and the participants demonstrated an impressive knowledge of American realities.
Attractive prizes awaited the winners, and all winners received diplomas. The best finalists were also rewarded with a WSG index to the English-language course of their choice, with the full cost of the first semester covered.
