Launch of the Ukrainian Saturday School: The University of Economy is launching a new educational project in Bydgoszcz, Piła and Człuchów.
The University of Economy, in collaboration with Honorary Consul Krzysztof Sikora, is proud to announce the official launch of the Ukrainian Saturday School. This new educational project is launching simultaneously in three towns: Bydgoszcz, Piła and Człuchów, in response to the growing needs of the Ukrainian community in the region and to facilitate their social integration into local communities. There are plans to open further centres through WSG’s branches and partners in northern Poland, including in Inowrocław, Chojnice and Ełk – towns that are particularly welcoming to refugees and migrants from Ukraine.
The initiative aims to provide children and young people from Ukraine with access to high-quality educational activities, to support the development of social skills, and to enable them to maintain ties with their native language and culture, whilst simultaneously strengthening integration processes within the local community.
Classes as part of the Saturday school will be held in person and will include a programme tailored to the needs of pupils of different ages. A qualified team of teachers and tutors will oversee the smooth running of the teaching and organisational processes. These classes complement the regular online lessons delivered via the Ukrainian Ministry of Education’s educational platform.

We want to foster a safe, welcoming environment for young people, supporting their potential and passions whilst encouraging their full integration into local communities,” emphasises WSG Chancellor Filip Sikora. “This is the forging of an innovative path towards socio-cultural integration, which can serve as a model for the safe integration of migrants across Europe.”
