The celebration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Bydgoszcz, which fell on 16 March 2026, was organized in the form of an academic lecture held on 18 March at the WSG University.
Among the attendees were: Honorary Consul Krzysztof Sikora, WSG Rector Prof. Dr Marek Chamot, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dr Magdalena Bergmann, Dean of the European Institute Dr Switłana Kashuba, and coordinators of IE and SSO – Olha Kopiika, Olha Alieksieienko, and Anastasiia Sotina. The event also gathered first-year students of management, tourism and recreation, creative industries, and computer science. The ceremony was further distinguished by the presence of a delegation from the H.S. Skovoroda National Pedagogical University in Kharkiv, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Vitalii Korobeinyk, who is currently undertaking a professional internship at the WSG Institute of Sport under the supervision of Dr Alekxander Skaliy.
The meeting was opened by the Honorary Consul, who recalled the beginnings of the consulate’s activity and emphasized the importance of solidarity with Ukraine. This was followed by a presentation delivered by Dean Dr Switłana Kashuba, summarizing the ten-year history of the consulate. Dr Alexander Skaliy then expressed words of appreciation, highlighting the Consul’s long-standing commitment to fostering relations with Ukraine. After the official part, group photos were taken, and the Consul received a formal acknowledgment from partners in Irpin, recognizing his partnership, social engagement, and support for children.
