WSG strengthens its cooperation with the ‘Andrzej Szwalbe – Heritage’ Association – an official agreement has been signed!
The WSG University has officially formalised its cooperation with the “Andrzej Szwalbe – Heritage” Association. An agreement was signed at the university’s headquarters, opening a new chapter in the implementation of joint cultural, educational and social initiatives.
The main aim of the agreement is to promote the legacy of Andrzej Szwalbe – the legendary figure behind modern cultural life in Bydgoszcz, long-standing director of the Pomeranian Philharmonic and an Honorary Citizen of the City. The joint activities of the university and the association are aimed, amongst other things, at carrying out research projects, organising cultural events and conferences, and engaging the academic community in initiatives promoting the region’s heritage.
The “Andrzej Szwalbe – Heritage” Association is a Bydgoszcz-based non-governmental organisation established to preserve the memory and develop the legacy of the outstanding patron of Bydgoszcz’s culture, the long-serving director of the Pomeranian Philharmonic. The association initiates educational, artistic and publishing projects, whilst also fostering the region’s cultural identity and the development of the Bydgoszcz Music District.
The signing of the agreement is a natural step in the development of our existing relationship – in June 2026, we jointly organised an academic conference entitled ‘Andrzej Szwalbe and the legacy of his initiatives in the Chełmno Land’ at the Collegium Maximum of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. The official agreement strengthens this cooperation and paves the way for further valuable academic and cultural projects.
This marks another step by WSG towards close cooperation with institutions and non-governmental organisations in Bydgoszcz that are committed to the region’s identity and development. We will keep you updated.
